Golden Years Games

Healing Gardens

Healing gardens have been used by hospitals and large clinics as part of the healing process for patients. These gardens existed since ancient times but have been  more frequently used these days with scientific evidence that some forms of human healings can be enhanced with constructing gardens aimed at providing some level of satisfaction to some human sensories. In this class, participants will learn the basic concepts of healing gardens and how to set up simple healing gardens and enjoy the benefits in their backyards

Raising and Maintaining Vegetable Seedlings

Raising and managing vegetable seedlings at home can be viewed as daunting if the basic principles for doing this are not known or followed. One can easily run into problems such as damping-off that could kill all your seedlings to splindly and weak growing seedlings that are not good for the garden. Knowing the right conditions required for raising a vegetable nursery at home such as light, temperature, humidity, applying the right quantities of water and nutrients at the right time and following basic hygienic requirement is all that it takes to be successful. This class will take participants through the basics required for raising a successful vegetable nursery at home.

Card Making

In this class you will learn a variety of techniques to create beautiful cards that reflect just how much you care.  Let Wanda show you how fun and easy card making can be. This is a great place to share your creative ideas with others who share your passion for card making!

Students will focus on the upcoming Easter holiday, making multiple cards in this session.

 

Class 2:  All Occasion

During this class, students will learn to make several cards for all occasions!

 

Class 3:  Mother's Day and All Occasion

Students will create a variety of cards in this class. Some cards will focus on Mother's Day and the others are great for any occasion.

 

Class 4:  Father's Day and All Occasion

In this session, students will prepare for Father's Day by making holiday focused cards, complemented by all occasion cards!

The butterflies in our area are a beautiful welcomed sight. Join Ray Weatherholt and learn about all of our native butterflies and learn what you can do to help keep them around!

In this class, you will learn a simple technique by which to create a beautiful painting of birch trees in three simple steps. You will also be able to personalize it for Valentine’s Day or loving memory, if you desire.  Students need to bring the following supplies: Foam brush, 5 by 7 canvas, scissors, old credit card (plastic), pencil.

Introduction to Weaving

If you are new to weaving and need help getting started, then you’re in the right place! Learn to weave on a two-harness table loom and create a table runner or sampler for your home. A Loom is the structure that you use to give your weave support and tension as you work.
