Our list of special events is updated seasonally.  Some special events require registration in advance, so be sure to read the event description closely.

 

MOVIE IN THE PARK - "LITTLE GIANTS" (90's THROWBACK)

Danny O'Shea has forever lived in the shadow of his brother, the great football player Kevin O'Shea. Kevin was stronger, faster, and more popular. But when his daughter is cut from Kevin's pee-wee football team, Danny brings together a squad of picked-lasts and losers to prove to Kevin that he can still learn a lot from his brother.  Admission is FREE and the movie will begin at sundown.  Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating!  Coolers are welcome, but we will also have a concession stand selling fresh popcorn, candy, and drinks.

JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER ACADEMY

The Clarksville Fire Department is searching for some brave young volunteers for their annual ‘Junior Firefighter Academy’. Is your child up to the task? During this event, kids ages 5-10 will get the chance to participate in a mini firefighter training camp, made up of fun activities and fire safety training. They will also learn from Clarksville Firefighters, tour a fire station, check out cool firefighting vehicles, and test their skills in our inflatable obstacle course. We will end the day with a special swearing in ceremony for our newest Junior Firefighters.  Each child will get a special Junior Firefighter T-Shirt.

ROCK THE ROCKS

Join the Falls of the Ohio Foundation for our 15th annual Rock the Rock fundraising event. Enjoy a buffet dinner, bourbon, wine and beer tastings while listening to live music by L.A. Players as the sun sets over the incredible fossil beds at The Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center. Enjoy the recently renovated museum throughout which there will be silent auction items. This annual event raises funds to benefit the mission of the Foundation to support the preservation and interpretation of the historical, scientific and cultural heritage of The Falls of the Ohio and to promote educational initiatives of this unique natural resource. Individual tickets are $80 each

MOVIE IN THE PARK - "HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3"

When the lonely Count Dracula goes on vacation with Mavis, his family and monster friends on the cruise ship Legacy, he immediately falls in love with the human Captain Ericka. However the mysterious woman has a secret that may jeopardize Dracula, his family and the other monsters. Who is Captain Ericka? Admission is FREE and the movie will begin at sundown.  Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating!  Coolers are welcome, but we will also have a concession stand selling fresh popcorn, candy, and drinks.

CLARKFEST 2019

ClarkFEST is the Town of Clarksville's largest community festival.  The event includes a parade, car show, live music, inflatables, food vendors, arts and crafts market, and much more!  All activities are FREE and open to everyone.  For a complete list of events or more information on getting involved, visit the ClarkFEST website at ClarksvilleClarkFEST.com.  This is a Town of Clarksville event, NOT a Clarksville Parks event.  To contact organizers, please email clarkfest@townofclarksville.com.

A QUIET PLACE

Two parents do what it takes to keep their children safe in a world full of creatures hunting every sound they can hear. Not a sound can be heard from the family hiding in silence, but all it takes is one noise and everything can go wrong.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

For reasons unknown, the recently deceased are rising from the grave as flesh-hungry zombies. Fleeing from the undead horde, a small group of survivors sequester themselves in a remote farmhouse, with no hope in sight

HALLOWEEN FRIGHT NIGHT

Halloween Fright Night is a special movie night intended for adults.  The evening will include a double feature of horror movies which will be inappropriate for younger audiences.  Both movies are FREE and will be shown back-to-back on the event lawn at Clarksville's Gateway Park.  Children ages 13 & over will be allowed for the first movie, if accompanied by an adult.  Children under the age of 17 years old WILL NOT be allowed to stay for the second movie.

FALL HARVEST HAYRIDE

Celebrate the fall season by jumping on board one of our hay wagons for a ride through Clarksville’s Lapping Park. You will be surrounded by the beauty of the fall season as you travel deep into the back of the park. When you arrive at Endris Lodge, you will be invited to warm up by our campfires, while being entertained with songs from singers Cameron & Molly. You will also have a chance to purchase a S’mores kit and roast some marshmallows over our campfire!  At 7:00pm, be sure to join us in the amphitheater for a live animal show with the folks from “Silly Safaris”.  No registration is required for this event.

GOBBLER GAMES

Gobble, gobble! Hey kids, here’s your chance to win a FREE frozen turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner! During this free event at Clarksville Middle School, kids will compete in a series of fun Thanksgiving themed games for a chance to win points. The child in each age category with the most points will take home a frozen turkey for his or her family. Every participating child will also be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a frozen turkey. Our turkey game winners will not be eligible for the raffle. Age Categories: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12.

LITTLE ELVES WORKSHOP

Help your children get into the holiday spirit with this special holiday themed event. We will have several activities for the kiddos to enjoy including cookie decorating, games, crafts, and more!  This event is only open to children ages 5-10. Be sure to register early, because space is limited!

CHRISTMAS CAROL SING-A-LONG

Buddy the Elf said it best, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Tonight we will do just that at the Clarksville Community Center as the group “Brisher Music” plays some of your favorite Christmas songs. Sing-a-long with them or just sit back and enjoy the music. Be sure to wear your best Christmas outfit or ugly Christmas sweater! While you listen to the music, enjoy some Christmas cookies and Hot Chocolate. It doesn’t matter if you are 6 or 60, this event will be enjoyed by all ages! Be sure to register early because space is limited for this holiday themed event. No scrooges allowed!
