Summary:
Clarksville Parks & Recreation is seeking a skilled and dependable Park Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance and repair of the town’s parks, facilities, and infrastructure. This full-time leadership role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates repairs and improvement projects, and helps ensure public spaces are safe, functional, and well maintained.

Salary: $59,309.38 annually with a 3-year progression (FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt)

Responsibilities:
- Lead daily maintenance operations for parks, facilities, and grounds, including staff scheduling and work assignments.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed, including storms, vandalism, urgent repairs, and facility alarm calls.
- Supervise maintenance staff, including hiring part-time, seasonal, and temporary employees, training, performance expectations, and safe work practices.
- Oversee routine and preventative maintenance of parks, facilities, and amenities (including playground equipment), conduct inspections to identify hazards, and prioritize repairs to ensure public spaces are safe and welcoming.
- Oversee aquatic center maintenance, including pumps, filters, and other mechanical systems, and coordinate pool start-up and shut-down.
- Coordinate seasonal winterization of park buildings and infrastructure (including irrigation/water systems).
- Manage tools, equipment, vehicles, inventory, purchasing, and maintenance-related expense tracking.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or trade certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance operations, including supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of general maintenance and repair, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and equipment operation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain pool operator certification (AFO or CPO) and Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
